Hedsor House in Buckinghamshire, (film location for 'Quartet' starring Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon, Tom Courtenay & Billy Connolly, Directed by Dustin Hoffman) was the beautiful setting for Laura and Alex's wedding. www.hedsor.com.
Laura chose Stoke Place www.stokeplace.co.uk to get ready in the morning, the ceremony took place in Taplow followed by their reception at Hedsor.
Guests began to arrive at the church in Taplow.
The church rules meant that I had to remain at the back of the church during the ceremony but I could move to a side aisle during a hymn at the end. The bridesmaids also remained standing behind the bride and groom during the vows obscuring my view, but I was able to capture these images amongst others..
A gust of wind helped the rose petals on their way.
Having greeted some of their guests, the couple were ready to leave for Hedsor House.
The drinks reception was held in the stunning hall and out in the garden.
Weddings can be just too much sometimes.
I was hoping to take a photo of the bride and groom in the foreground of this picture but I respected their wish to not move away from their guests and their preferred location for a more formal shot (as discussed at our meeting at the venue a few weeks beforehand) was by this tree with the fantastic view in the background.
The rest of the day I captured in a purely reportage style.
Laura and Alex chose a vintage styled afternoon tea for their wedding breakfast and the room looked stunning. The table names were biscuits, from Shortbread to Penguins, from YoYos to Hobnobs.

As the evening set in the couple had one last stroll in the garden.
A fabulous 'cheese cake' was the centrepiece for the evening buffet table.

Jade & Simon were lucky enough to have St Albans Cathedral, Hertfordshire as their local church. Stunning setting. Their reception was held at the gorgeous St Michaels Manor, a short walk from the Cathedral.
I photographed the girls at the house and then raced to St. Michaels Manor to capture the boys leaving for the short walk to the Cathedral.
Just had a couple of minutes to capture the splendour of the cathedral before the guests started arriving in the Lady Chapel.
Here comes the bride.
I was allowed to stand in a small doorway to the right of the altar so that I couldn't be seen as Jade arrived. During the first hymn I had to move to the back of the chapel.
After the ceremony the procession moved along the Nave to the West End door.
Every bride should feel like this on their wedding day.

At our pre-wedding meeting Jade and Simon had asked for some groups shots and some specific set up fun shots. I don't normally do the latter as I am a reportage photographer but of course I was happy to take them.
The drinks reception took place mainly in the house as the weather, like most British summer days, was chanegable! The sun did appear once or twice though.
Red was the colour and the tables were named after famous film couples. The top table was A.J. and Grace from Armageddon!
Puddings!
Guests were able to relax in the last few rays of the evening sun.
