Welcome to Wedstock

The latest issue (no 11) of Brides Etc magasine includes a feature entitled 'Welcome to Wedstock' and tells the story of the beautiful country wedding of Sarah and Rob in July.
It was an amazing day with lots of fantastic details handmade by the bride and groom and their families. Cath Kidston style paper windmills became the place settings and table numbers and bunting, some of which was made from material from the groom's baby blankets saved by is mum, adorned the marquee, inside the church and the fabulous trailer that took the bride and groom to their reception venue.
Cake stands for 'High Tea' were made from vintage plates and sherry glasses glued together. Very clever.

The ceremony took place at Walkern Church and the recption was held at Church Farm, Ardeley. (Which has a fantatsic farm shop by the way).

Hello

Hello. I am finally blogging!

I love weddings as I meet some amazing people and enjoy seeing all the little details that make each wedding unique. There are some incredibly talented couples out there who spend months making bunting and cake stands and favours themsleves. There are some amazing mums who make cakes and dresses and table plans.... and of course some fantastic suppliers.
I hope to show you some of these inspirational ideas in my forthcoming bloggs.

To start us off, take alook at these clever cake stands Sarah made from vintage plates found at craft markets, car boots, ebay etc which she glued to sherry glasses to make very beautiful centre peices to each table.
Wonderful.
